The Vietnam Drug Administration (VDA) under the Ministry of Health has publicized the names of 57 foreign pharmaceutical producers whose products violate Vietnam’s quality regulations.

Do Van Dong, deputy head of the administration, said 40 out of the 57 pharmaceutical enterprises are from India, six from South Korea, three from Pakistan, two from each of Bangladesh and the U.S., and the rest from Russia, the Philippines, China and Canada.
In its documents sent to provinces and cities and drug trading firms, VDA said it will update the dates the businesses infringed quality regulations and inform the inspection times for 100% of drug shipments of three Indian manufacturers – Aegen Bioteck Pharma Private Limited, Health Care Formulations Pvt. Ltd and XL Laboratories Pvt. Ltd.
The Vietnam Drug Administration removed four firms from the list of foreign producers with products violating quality standards as the agency found no violations after conducing inspections on 100% of drug imports from them. Three of them are from India – Hyrio Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., Kausikh Therapeutics Ltd. and Mediwin Pharmaceuticals, and one from Bangladesh – General Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
The administration asked the provincial departments of health to check and monitor drugs under their management to ensure drug quality and impose fines on violators.
