The situation was reported to the Ministry of Transport (MoT) by the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV). This agency asked the MoT to have support measures so that Vietnamese passengers can get entry into Singapore.

The CAAV said the airlines that provide flights from Vietnam to Singapore “were involved in misfortune” because many Vietnamese passengers, mostly women, could not enter this country. Denied entry, they had no way to return to Vietnam on the flights of airlines that transported them to Singapore. This has caused a lot of difficulties and additional costs for both passengers and air carriers.

Reportedly, the CAAV has asked the Singapore Aviation Administration to work with immigration authorities to provide airlines with the list of Vietnamese people who are not recommended to go to Singapore.

The CAAV asked the Ministry of Transport to work with the Foreign Ministry on the issue and to send an official diplomatic note to the diplomatic agencies of Singapore requesting clarification, to coordinate with the relevant agencies of Vietnam to create favorable conditions for the operation of the airlines and ensure the rights of passengers.
