Francophone Film Festival 2017

The 2017 Francophone Film Festival, organised by the partners of the Group of Embassies, Delegations and Francophone Institutions in Vietnam, represents the cultural diversity of La Francophonie.

The program for the 2017 edition is composed of 11 fiction films presented by the Embassies of Canada, France, Morocco, Switzerland, the Wallonia-Brussels delegation, the Vietnamese Department of Cinema, International organization of Francophonie.

The films are subtitled in Vietnamese, with the exception of Vietnamese films which are subtitled in French.

EXHIBITION

“SLAMthơ – Poetic Labyrinth”

“SLAMthơ” gives a unique experience of discovering original poems written by Vietnamese francophone students during the first poetry slam ever in Vietnam. The centerpiece of the exhibition, a labyrinth, takes visitors to explore its mazes, similar to a poet wandering in their words, searching for meaning and sensations.

Photo Exhibition “Illumination” by Tran Quoc Dung

Come to the photo exhibition “Illumination” by artist Tran Quoc Dung. This 2nd event is about the 2nd step of his artistic gait, the search of ipad ante-christ with tacky lamps which unique purpose is to reuse his already-old-fashioned pictures of his former photo serie of Long Bien’s roof top and his holidays photos.

Exhibition “Fairy” by Artist Do Hiep

The ten circular paintings displayed in “Fairy” represent Hiep’s first experiments with rice paper (Do paper), asian lacquer, pearl shell and acrylic on wood. The artist is enamoured with pieces of glittering pearl shell pieces, profound drops of Asian lacquer, ancient flowers and floating clouds on rice paper.

Do Hiep was born in 1984 and gained an MA degree from the Vietamese Fine Arts University in 2012. He has participatied in many group exhibitions at home and abroad. He is the recipient of several awards from Vietnamese Fine Art Association. “Fairy” is his second solo exhibition.
