Marksmen shoot for glory at World Cup in Munich

Eight Vietnamese shooters arrived in Germany to compete at the ongoing International Sport Shooting Federation World Cup Rifle/Pistol in Munich.

Among the participants are Olympian Hoang Xuan Vinh and Tran Quoc Cuong who will compete in the men’s 50m pistol.

16-year-old Iwaki Ai, who won a bronze medal at the Asian Championship last year, will join her seniors Nguyen Thi Ngan and Phung Thi Lan Huong in the women’s 10m air rifle event.

The World Cup ends on May 26.

Sannatech Khanh Hoa third in National Futsal Championship

Sannatech Khanh Hoa tied Thai Son Nam for third place in a 1-1draw for the National Futsal Championship which closed yesterday in HCM City.

Thai Son Nam then received their trophy which they grabbed on Monday, two rounds before the end of the event.

Last year’s champion Sanna Khanh Hoa, who beat Thai Son Bac 4-1, finished second.

Thai Son Nam’s best player is Tran Van Vu. His teammate, Ngo Dinh Thuan, is their best goalkeeper.

VN drawn in Group C of 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup

Viet Nam have been drawn in Group C of the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup. The draw took place at Medellin’s Plaza Mayor Conference Centre, Colombia yesterday morning.

The team will face Italy, Guatemala and Paraguay in the group.

Viet Nam will meet Guatemala on September 11 and Paraguay on September 14, with both games in Cali city, and Italy on September 17 in Bucaramanga city.

According to Viet Nam’s coach Bruno Garcia, Viet Nam aims to reach the quarterfinals.

The Cup, which features 24 teams, will take place from September 10 to October 1 in Colombia.

Viet Nam qualified for the World Cup for the first time after defeating reigning Asian champions Japan in the quarterfinals of the AFC Futsal Championship in February.

Viet Nam’s players will prepare for the event at a training camp in Japan.
