A media center for IPU 132 was inaugurated on March 26 at the My Dinh National Convention Center to serve the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly (IPU-132) scheduled to take place in Hanoi from March 28 to April 1.

Equipped with high-speed internet, the center is able to facilitate 300 journalists to work at the same time and help the IPU-132 organisation board in managing media activities.

Ngo Duc Manh, Vice Chairman of the NA’s Committee for External Relations and Head of the IPU-132 Sub-Committee on Information-Communication, highlighted the significance of the assembly as one of the biggest political and diplomatic events Vietnam has ever hosted.

The event will attract leading press agencies- the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) Radio The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and the Vietnam Television (VTV) together with local authorities and agencies including the mVietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Jemini Pandia Gillijns, who is in charge of communications at the IPU Secretariat said journalists will be able to have access to audio and video files and interviews with the participants at the Assembly will be conducted at the center.

The parliamentary event is expected to welcome 160 foreign delegations from member parliaments and international organizations.
