Pham Phu Loc beat his teammate Nguyen Minh Thien 7-1 in the all Binh Duong match yesterday, while Nguyen Minh Phat of HCM City cruised to a 7-0 win over Nguyen Dai Khanh of Binh Duong.

Hanoian Bui Tuan Kien edged out Tran Minh Quan from Vinh Phuc 7-5, while Pham La Hoang Anh of Ha Noi beat his teammate Nguyen Hieu Minh 7-3.

In the men’s over-18 singles, Le Khac Tung Lam of Da Nang beat Tran Van Hoa of Public Security 6-0, 6-2 in the opening match yesterday.

Le Minh of Public Security beat Vo Van Toan of Da Nang 6-1, 6-4, while Trieu Hoang Hieu took a 6-7, 7-5, 6-4 win over Le Cong Tien in the all-Army match.

HCM City’s Tran Truong Giang had an easy win 6-1, 6-1 against Le Minh Tuan of Public Security.

Tran Hoang Anh Khoa of Army won 6-1, 6-0 Nguyen Van Anh Tuan of Vinh Phuc.

The annual tournament has drawn 170 athletes from 13 teams competing in singles and doubles from U12 to over-18 groups.

The tournament will finish on April 23.
