VietNamNet Bridge – Some men have recently laid traps to blackmail transport police officers on the national road 1A, the section from Ha Nam to Nghe An provinces.

The latest case was discovered at a transport police station in Tam Diep, Ninh Binh on November 17. Police searched the truck and seized some exhibits.

They drove trucks on the road and intentionally violated traffic laws to catch the attention of police. Once they were stopped by police, they bribed them to not be fined. They used mini-cameras to shoot the process as evidence of them blackmailing police officers.

Ninh Binh province’s police forces investigated and detected three men from the central province of Hoang Hoa who conducted several cases like this.

According to Ninh Binh police, these men trapped two police officers of Ninh Binh province by using their trick, and then they used promotional mobile phone numbers to send text messages claiming 100 million dong ($50,000) from the policemen.

These men said they filmed these cases as evidence to fight corruption but video clips were not sent to relevant bodies but to corrupted police officers to claim money.

The case is being further investigated.
