From insights to impact: Driving the data-led mobility revolution
Aligned with Vietnam's ambition to be among the top 30 nations in innovation and digital transformation by 2045, Michelin is pioneering the use of AI and data analytics to advance smart, safe, and sustainable mobility.
The Group is creating value from the data it collects, mines, and analyzes by leveraging its deep understanding of user behavior and advanced algorithmic expertise to provide actionable solutions to customers.
Michelin has unified three data science companies acquired over the past decade under the Michelin Connected Fleet brand: Sascar (Brazil), Nextraq (USA), and Masternaut (Europe). These companies, alongside the “tire-as-a-service” tire maintenance outsourcing solutionmaintenance solution, support over one million trucks and vans under contract, forming a unique, expansive database for Michelin’s fleet management clients.
One notable innovation is the Smart Predictive Tire solution, part of Michelin Connected Fleet. This system uses sensors and advanced data analysis algorithms to monitor tire conditions in real time and predict potential damage. It helps businesses optimize maintenance schedules, reduce downtime, save fuel, and lower CO₂ emissions. With high practicality and contribution to safety and sustainability, this solution was honored with the I-Innovation Award at the SOLUTRANS international exhibition in 2023.

Michelin is also applying artificial intelligence in production, developing robotic systems to handle flexible composite materials more efficiently.
To accelerate the deployment of AI in its global production network, Michelin has partnered with Microsoft. This collaboration supports the rollout of digital innovations focused on optimizing energy management in Michelin's factories worldwide, helping to reduce emissions and contribute to the Group’s net-zero goal by 2050.
Innovation fuels Michelin’s sustainable mobility goals
Guided by its “All Sustainable” vision, Michelin has set a target to use 40% renewable or recycled materials in production and cut CO₂ emissions by 5047% compared to 2010 levels by 2030. By 2050, the Group aims to achieve 100% sustainable materials and carbon neutrality. All natural rubber used will be certified deforestation-free.
Michelin is advancing safety, efficiency, and sustainability in mobility through connected solutions, new tire inspection technologies, and data-driven insights to enhance road infrastructure safety.
Jason Tan Jing Shen, Managing Director of Michelin for Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Laos, stated: “We will achieve this by building and empowering a world-class organization: one that champions a sustainable tomorrow through our innovations, nurtures talent, and advances sustainability. Together, we will deliver and create lasting value for our consumers, customers, partners, employees, society, and planet - fully aligned with our ‘All-Sustainable’ approach of People, Profit, Planet.”
In Vietnam, Michelin has reduced CO₂ emissions by over 50% by switching to sea freight and renewable energy. It has also eliminated plastic packaging for motorcycle tires, saving more than 300,000 kilograms of plastic annually. Additionally, over 3,700 tons of CO₂ emissions are cut each year at its Binh Duong plant thanks to biomass boilers and solar power.
Michelin’s balanced model for sustainable progress
Michelin is shaping a sustainable future with a comprehensive value creation model based on respect for people, facts, customers, shareholders, and the environment. Its “All-Sustainable” strategy balances People, Profit, and Planet in every decision.
In the tire industry, Michelin continues to focus on premium segments including passenger vehiclescars, two-wheelers, and specialized vehicles used in mining, agriculture, and aviation. At the same time, it is pushing Industry 4.0 manufacturing closer to customers and expanding B2B service offerings.
Through its Polymer Composite Solutions division, Michelin is innovating with bio-based resins, active membranes, and advanced reinforcements, while investing in ventures like Symbio (hydrogen mobility), ResiCare (high-performance biomaterials), and WISAMO (wWind sSail mMobility – a wind propulsion for maritime shippingtransport).
The Group is accelerating its Connected Solutions portfolio, offering including tire-as-a-service, electric fleet support, and IoT-powered mobility tools expertise. Michelin’s Lifestyle business porfolio is also expanding, with the MICHELIN Guide and new awards like the Green Star and MICHELIN Key, alongside a growing range of consumer goods, including car and bike accessories, sporting equipment, and collectibles.
