The Singaporean street hawker Chan Hon Meng, famous for serving the world’s cheapest Michelin-starred meal, will cook at Pan Pacific Hanoi Hotel on Friday evening.

Meng will serve his Hong Kong style soya sauce chicken rice and noodles, the dish for which his stall in Singapore’s Chinatown Food Complex won a Michelin Star in 2016.
He has garnered international headlines as for serving the cheapest Michelin-starred meal in the world, at S$2 or US$1.50 a plate.

Even before receiving the Michelin star, Liao Fan Hong Kong Soya Chicken Rice & Noodles was already a well-known stall. Helming the kitchen is owner and chef Meng, who has had a strong passion for cuisine since he was young.
At his pop-up visit at Pan Pacific Hanoi Hotel, Meng will team up with other Singaporean chefs to present the authentic cuisine of his island country.

Kim Choo was founded by Madam Lee Kim Choo in the 1940s. Kim Choo’s Kitchen was opened in 2003 by Helen Lim, Madam Lee’s daughter-in-law, and carries on the family tradition as she serves her authentic Peranakan cuisine.
Artisans from the family-run Kway Guan Huat - Joo Chiat Popiah, famous for the culinary art of turning the traditional fresh spring rolls popiah and kueh pie tie (a thin and crispy pastry tart) into amazing artworks, will introduce to gourmands their traditional products since 1938.
Finally, New Ubin Seafood Restaurant in Singapore will treat connoisseurs to popular dishes classic chilli crab.
In addition, a live cooking station of Michelin-starred chef Meng will delight all guests of the special dinner.
