A workshop was held in central Da Nang city on January 31 to launch the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship (MOSWC) 2015.
Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Bui Van Ga said the MOSWC is a healthy and practical playground for Vietnamese students and encouraged them to study and enhance their IT proficiency.
The increasing numbers of competitors demonstrates the competition’s the practicability and importance to human resources development in the country’s IT sector, he added.
At the competition, contestants will take the MOS exam – a proficiency test on Microsoft Office software skills, including Word 2010, Excel 2010 and PowerPoint 2010.
The fifty best performers from each category will secure a berth in the National Final with the MOS Expert and Scenario tests.
The top three scorers of the national competition from the three categories will be honoured as Vietnam’s MOS Ambassadors and represent the country to compete in the World Finals in Dallas, Texas, the US, on August 9-12, 2015.
The MOSWC is the world’s largest competition on Microsoft Office skills, spanning over 100 countries.
In Vietnam, it has now become the biggest national scale world class computer proficiency competition, reaching out to all of the 63 provinces and municipalities nationwide.
