Cong received a yellow card after Dyachenko Rodion Sergey of Quang Ninh Coal fell. He then took another penalty because of his striking Bui Van Hieu in the final seconds.

Cong reportedly swore at referee Ngo Duy Lan at the end of the match, which saw Can Tho defeated 0-2 on home turf in the national premier league’s round 22.

The ban means Cong will not play until the second match of the next season, since the V.League has only four rounds left. He was also fined VND15 million (US$670).

This was not the first time Cong has had problems on the field. Last season he was banned from three matches after splitting on a player, and three years ago he was prevented from playing for four games due to a violent mistake.
