VietNamNet Bridge – Hanoi’s hip-hop troupe Milky Way won the first prize worth VND40 million ($2,000) in the finale of the national dance contest called “Centaur Dance Showdown” in the central city of Da Nang on December 2.


Five boys from Hanoi performed very well and won the audience and the jury’s hearts.

The troupe received VND40 million and a trip to South Korea. Milky Way will also represent Vietnam at the international final round in HCM City on December 16. Their rivals will be dance troupes from France and South Korea.

Coming second in the national finale is Street troupe from the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau. Old Men and X_Clown ranked third.

“Centaur Dance Showdown” was kicked off in early September, attracting nearly 100 dance troupes throughout Vietnam. Four troupes entered the final round, held in Da Nang.

Outstanding techniques and creativeness helped Milky Way win the first prize.

The final night had the presence of singers Hoang Thuy Linh, Tina Tinh and rapper Kim.

The jury of “Centaur Dance Showdown” includes choreographers Nguyen Viet Thanh, Ngoc Hien and super model Ha Anh.
