Top Vietnamese player Nguyen Tien Minh will participate in the Yonex Denmark Open badminton tournament to be held from October 14 to 19 in Odense City.

The world No 23 will face Takuma Ueda of Japan, seeded No 29, in the first-round match of the men's singles category.

In their first meet two years ago, Minh beat Ueda 21-14, 21-19 in the Vietnam Open final.

The women's singles event will see Vu Thu Trang, seeded No 74, play Simone Prutsch of Austria, seeded No 85, in the qualification round.

Some of the world's leading players, such as Chinese defending champion Long Chen, Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei and Japan's Kenichi Tago in the men's events, and Xuerui Li and Shixian Wang of China and Ji Hyun-sung from South Korea in the women's events, are participating in the US$600,000 Super Series Premier tournament in Denmark.
