At the first Party Congress of the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs on July 14, Chu Dinh Dong, Deputy Head of the Government Party Committee’s Organization Commission, announced the Party Committee’s decision to appoint the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, and the Inspection Committee of the ministry for the 2025–2030 term.

The Party Executive Committee of the Ministry includes 23 members, while the Standing Committee comprises 8 members.

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung was appointed as Party Secretary. Deputy Minister Y Vinh Tor was appointed as Permanent Deputy Party Secretary, and Cam Van Thanh was named Specialized Deputy Party Secretary for the 2025–2030 term.

The Standing Committee also appointed five members to the Party Inspection Committee. Deputy Minister Y Thong was named Chairman; Hoang Duc Thanh, Permanent Vice Chairman; and Nguyen Dac Hau, Specialized Vice Chairman.

The Congress also selected six official delegates and three alternate delegates to attend the Government Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term.

Delegates at the Congress approved the Party Congress Resolution of the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs for the 2025–2030 term.

During this term, the Party Committee of the Ministry will continue to innovate and enhance its leadership capacity and combat strength, along with that of affiliated Party organizations. Focus will be placed on improving the quality and effectiveness of political, ideological, ethical, and personnel work.

With determination, proactivity, and flexibility, the Ministry aims to fulfill its political duties, contributing to the comprehensive, rapid, and sustainable development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas; ensuring the right to freedom of belief and religion; and strengthening national solidarity, resilience, and confidence in the country’s era of rising progress.

The Party Committee has outlined key breakthrough goals focused on comprehensive reform to strengthen leadership and direction, enhance the effectiveness of state management in ethnic, religious, and belief affairs.

It will proactively conduct research, provide timely and effective advisory input, and institutionalize Party guidelines related to ethnic and religious policies. These efforts include reviewing and summarizing the 2021–2030 ethnic affairs strategy, developing proposals for the 2031–2040 strategy, and finalizing the legal framework concerning ethnic minorities, religion, and belief. The ministry also aims to improve people's livelihoods and social welfare.
