The delegation also included leaders of several departments under the ministry. Representing Lam Dong Province were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Phuc, Director of the provincial Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, and local officials.
At the headquarters of the Lac Duong Commune People's Committee, Minister Khang met with local residents, encouraging them to continue improving their livelihoods and building prosperous, happy communities.
During the visit, the minister presented 24 gift packages to respected community figures and 78 gift packages to poor and disadvantaged ethnic minority households. The delegation also presented gifts to the commune authorities.
Lac Duong Commune comprises 15 villages with 3,119 households and a population of 14,211. Ethnic minorities make up 84.28% of the population.
The commune is also home to four religions, with 17 religious establishments and 11,781 followers, accounting for nearly 81% of the local population.
In 2025, Lac Duong Commune was allocated more than US$76,900 under Vietnam's National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021–2025 period.
The funding has been used to support production linked to value chains, encourage entrepreneurship and investment in ethnic minority areas, develop essential infrastructure, maintain roads serving production and daily life, improve public healthcare, enhance nutrition and physical development among ethnic minority communities, prevent child malnutrition, and strengthen communications and public awareness campaigns.
