Vuong Duy Bien, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism cum Director of the ministry’s Art Performing Department made the threat.

On the evening of November 25, Trinh Hong Que attended the Hanoi International Film Festival, despite not having an official invitation. Her appearance and poses surprised many guests and puzzled the event organiser.

After the incident, Hong Que was criticised, saying that she had been impudent.

Nguyen Thanh Nhan, from the Art Performing Department, told Dantri/DTiNews, “Right after Hong Que’s incident, the department discussed with the Cinema Department to work out the best solution.”

Speaking at a meeting in Hanoi on November 27 to popularise the government’s conservative new Decree 79/2012/NĐ-CP on art, beauty pageant and fashion performances, ministry spokesperson Pham Dinh Tan said that the press should not have posted photos of the model on internet.

Concerning singer Dam Vinh Hung’s incident in which he kissed monk after a joke at a charity event, Meritorious Artist Le Chuc said a fine of only VND5 million (USD239.7) was too light.

Deputy Minister Vuong Duy Bien said such behaviour could mean a fine of from VND50-70 million, along with a performance ban for a certain period.
