VietNamNet Bridge – The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a ceremony on April 3 to present the Military Exploits Order, the Exploits Order and the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit to its units and individuals in Ho Chi Minh City.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung granted the Military Exploits Order, first class, to MPS Minister General Le Hong Anh, Deputy Minister Sen. Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Van Huong, and Deputy Minister Lieut. Gen. Bui Van Nam.

One unit and four individuals were awarded the Military Exploit Order, second and third class while two units and nine individuals received the Exploits Order and other four units and 26 individuals were granted the PM’s Certificate of Merit.

These awards are to acknowledge and honour the achievements of the MPS in ensuring national security and implementing special working plans serving the Party and State’s foreign affairs. One of the highlighted achievements was the C509 case involving the reactionary organisation led by Le Cong Dinh, Tran Huynh Duy Thuc, Le Thang Long and Nguyen Tien Trung.

This was an especially serious case in violation of national security as well as the existence, stability and strong development of the political institution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, which took place at a time when hostile forces were increasing “peaceful evolution” activities targeting Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, PM Dung affirmed that the police forces have fulfilled their important tasks of protecting national security and maintaining social order and safety.

They have firmly grasped the situation and taken the initiative in fighting and preventing all “peaceful evolution” schemes and activities, ensuring security in all aspects, he said.
