VietNamNet Bridge - Minister Dinh La Thang has decided to stop organizing examinations to recruit the heads of some transport agencies under the direction of the Politburo.

Accordingly, there will be no contest for recruitment of the Director of the Aviation Academy; the head of the Maritime Department; the Director of the Environment Department; the Head of the International Cooperation Department; and the representative of the state at the Vietnam Shipping Lines Corporation (Vinalines).
Instead, the selection and appointment of these officials will be carried out according to the current regulations of the Party, the Government, and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to the Ministry of Transport, in late May, the Politburo issued an announcement on the pilot scheme on recruiting management officials at departmental level.
The announcement stipulates: "State agencies and local bodies pilot innovative ways of recruitment of civil servants and officials at the departmental level under this scheme (which has been formally issued); not organize exams to recruit public servants and officials under their own programs".
Over the past year, the Ministry of Transport held 10 examinations to select top officials.
The exams were held publicly. Positions selected included the Director General of the Vietnam Road Administration, the head of the Transport Department, the Head of the Traffic Safety Department, the Director of the Vietnam Railways Administration, and the general director of Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation.
