VietNamNet Bridge - The Ministry of Construction has asked the government’s permission to hire the Institute for Regional Urban Development Planning IAU - Ile de France (France) to make the regional planning of Hanoi.
The Ministry of Construction was assigned to select an experienced foreign consultant to participate in the study of socio-economic development modeling, regional development scenarios and transportation planning for Hanoi.
Three foreign organizations applied for the job, including the Institute for Regional Urban Development Planning IAU - Ile de France, EGIS (France) and Hansen Partnership Company (Australia).
After reviewing the record, assessing the capacity of the consulting organizations, the Ministry of Construction has selected the Institute for Regional Urban Development Planning IAU - Ile de France.
This institute is rated as qualified and experienced in Vietnam to participate in the project to make the adjustment to the planned construction of Hanoi in 2030 and a vision to 2050.
According to the Ministry of Construction, the IAU Institute made the construction planning for the Paris Region, which was approved in 2011 and participated in the study of the plan to build the Hanoi capital region in 2006.
The Hanoi region includes Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Ha Nam and Hoa Binh.
After Hanoi’s administrative boundary was adjusted in 2008, the Prime Minister approved the construction planning of the Hanoi capital region to 2025 and vision to 2030.
At a meeting in late 2012, members of the government proposed to extend the capital region to Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen and Bac Giang. The province is located within a radius of 100 km from the center of Hanoi.
