The ministry was asked to co-operate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Construction and relevant agencies to complete the task, Dung said.

The list would serve as a foundation for the Government while considering the approval of foreign direct investment projects into Viet Nam in the future, Thanh Nien (Young People) online newspaper reported.

The environment ministry has prepared a project to specifically monitor producers that have a greater likelihood of polluting the environment and submitted it to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc for consideration, he added.

Further, Dung required the nine localities of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Ben Tre, Binh Phuoc and Dak Lak, as well as Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh and Can Tho to issue their action programme on environmental protection within this month following the direction of the Prime Minister.
