The Miss Beach Vietnam pageant kicked off in Hanoi on March 28, aiming to honour the beauty of Vietnamese women.

It was announced at a press conference in Hanoi on March 28 that the qualifying round will be held in Hanoi on April 8-10 and in HCM city on April 2-4. Sixty candidates will be chosen for the semi-final round in Quang Ninh province on May 6-8, and 40 among them will be selected for the final round in Tuan Chau Island, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province on May 21.

Besides three major titles, the organizing board will present minor titles such as Miss Talent, Miss Hospitality, Miss Tourism, Miss Photo and Miss Ao Dai.

Head of the organizing board Ly Minh Tuan said the beauty pageant provided an opportunity for contestants to show their knowledge about social affairs and their homeland’s sea and islands.

The pageant will be held along with charity programs and environmental protection activities, Tuan said.
