The beauty contest will run with the theme of "ME loves TREE" and aims to seek a Vietnamese representative to vie for the Miss Earth 2023 crown.
The preliminary round is scheduled to take place nationwide from July 20 to August 17.
Contestants must be aged 18 to 27 who have graduated from high school and are at least 1.63 metres tall.
Entrants who previously won first, second, or third prizes at local beauty contestants nationwide during the 2018 to 2022 period will progress through to the final round of the Miss Earth Vietnam 2023 pageant.
The contest’s overall winner will receive a crown worth VND1 billion, as well as a cash prize totaling VND100 million, whilst the first, second, and third runners-up will be awarded VND50 million each and other gifts.
The three mentors of the pageant will be Nguyen Tran Khanh Van, Miss Universe Vietnam 2019, Bui Quynh Hoa, Supermodel International contest 2022 winner, and Le Thi Ha Thu, Top 16 of Miss Earth 2017.
Reigning Miss Earth Mina Sue Choi of the Republic of Korea will work as ambassador of the pageant. She will also join in a series of Miss Earth’s promotional activities held throughout the country.
The international beauty pageant Miss Earth 2023 is scheduled to be organised in Nha Trang of Khanh Hoa province later this year. The event is expected to feature more than 100 contestants from various different countries and territories from around the world.
Miss Earth was originally launched by the Philippines Carousel Production Company in 2001 as a means of promoting environmentally-friendly activities. Previously, Vietnam played host to Miss Earth 2010.
The nation first sending representatives to Miss Earth back in 2003. In 2018, Vietnam won Miss Earth for the first time with the crown going to Nguyen Phuong Khanh of Ben Tre province.
