Miss Universe 2007 Riyo Mori arrived in Hanoi on May 3 to attend a corporate event.
This is the second visit of the Japanese beauty queen to Vietnam. She came here in 2008 to crown her successor, Dayana Mendoza from Venezuela, at the Miss Universe 2008.
The 29-year-old shared that Vietnam is one of the three countries that she wants to visit the most.
Mori was the third Japanese woman to make the top five at a Miss Universe in the past decade.
She aims to use her success and popularity as a springboard into humanitarian causes.
"I think I have a samurai soul, and I'm very patient,” she said.
