VietNamNet Bridge - The 40 finalists of the 2012 Miss Vietnam pageant are urgently preparing for the final night, August 25.

The final night of the Miss Vietnam 2012 pageant will take place at 8 pm this Saturday in the central coastal city of Da Nang.

The finale of the biennial event will be broadcast live on VTV1, VTV4 and Style TV channels, featuring amazing outdoor and aerial film clips. Preparations for the final night are on schedule and the ‘Miss Sea’ and ‘Miss Talent’ sub-pageants have been completed.

According the organisers, ‘Tien Phong’ (Vanguard) newspaper and the Da Nang municipal People’s Committee, the pageant focuses on the country’s sophisticated culture throughout its national history and promotes the beauty of modern Vietnamese women.

The contestant crowned Miss Vietnam 2012 will receive a cash prize of VND300 million (US$14,000), while the first and second runners up will take home VND150 million (US$7,000) and VND100 million (US$5,000), respectively.

Six other titles and VND30 million each will be awarded to outstanding candidates chosen as Miss Talent, Miss Sea, Miss Beautiful Face, Miss Ao Dai, Miss Beautiful Complexion and Miss Beautiful Hair.

First launched in 1988, this is the country’s biggest and longest-running beauty pageant. The current Miss Vietnam is 23-year-old Dang Thi Ngoc Han from Hanoi.
