VietNamNet Bridge – Global Beauties website has picked up Vietnamese beauty queen Diem Huong, who was in the top 14 of Miss Earth 2010 pageant, to the list of 87 beauty queens around the world who will compete for the Miss Grand Slam title this year.

Miss Grand Slam is a poll on Global Beauties, a famous website on international beauty pageants, to choose the beauty queens of beauty queens in the world.

Global Beauties selected the 87 contestants of Miss Grand Slam from the winners or contestants who entered the finals of five largest beauty pageants in the world: Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Earth, Miss International and Miss Tourism Queen International. However, Miss Tourism Queen International was canceled this year so contestants from the Miss Super-national pageant will replace them.

Contestants of Miss Grand Slam 2010 include Miss Earth Nicole Faria (India), Miss International Elizabeth Mosquera (Venezuela), Miss Universe Jimena Navarrete (Mexico), Miss World Alexandria Mills (USA).

Last year the Miss Grand Slam went to the first runner up of the Miss World pageant, Perla Beltran from Mexico.

Diem Huong is a second-year student at Lotus College in HCM City. She won the Miss World Vietnam title in August and represented Vietnam at Miss Earth 2010. She was presented Miss Bikini and listed among the top 14 contestants at Miss Earth 2010.

From 87 contestants, Global Beauties will select the top 50, the top 20 and finally the winner.

The winner will receive a campaign medal named Yulia, designed by Greg Borowski in 1999. The medal is named after Russian beauty queen Yulia Lemigova, who was voted as the Most beautiful girl in the Grand Slam ranking for the 20th century.

Last year, Vietnam’s Huong Giang was in the top ten of Miss Grand Slam and she won the Miss Grand Slam Asia.

Diem Huong and Chung Thuc Quyen’s performance at the Miss Earth and Miss Supernatural pageants has helped Vietnam to climb up two rankings to 55th in Global Beauties’ Grand Slam ranking.
