Vietnamese representative Do My Linh competed in the traditional dance contest of the Miss World 2017 pageant on October 21 wearing a lotus dress.
Contestants with good traditional dances will be chosen to perform at the "dances of the world" section of the opening ceremony of Miss World 2017 pageant’s final round. My Linh’s traditional dance was choreographed by Huynh Men and Raymond Huynh. Pictured is a sketch of Linh’s costume by designer Ngo Nhat Huy. The yellow part of the costume represents for lotus stigma. The brown part symbolizes the mud that is home to the lotus, a familiar image reminiscent of the countryside. Silk sleeves symbolize green leaves and the blue is representative of water. Miss World 2017 began on October 20 in China. The opening ceremony will take place at Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Guangdong on October 31. The competition comes to a close with the grand finale at Sanya City Arena in Hainan on November 18. |
