VietNamNet Bridge – A musketeer in the central province of Nghe An shot a woodsman dead because of mistaking the man as a beast.



Mr. Cut Van In, 51, from Ky Son District has been arrested for investigation after he shot a man dead while going hunting in the forest on April 9.

Investigators say that at around 3pm of April 9, while hunting with a musket in the Khe Nap forest. When going deep into the jungle, he heard a noise from a bush. Believing that an animal was in the bush, he opened fire.

After the shot, he heard a scream from the bush. The victim was a local man named Ly Giong Lau.

In carried Lau on his back to a nearby health station, but Lau was dead.

In was arrested after that for an investigation.

Similar cases happened in Nghe An province in recent years.

Hunting wild animals in the forest is illegal in Vietnam.
