Among those playing, there are four strikers, Mac Hong Quan of Quang Ninh Coal, Nguyen Cong Phuong, Tran Phi Son and Nguyen Van Toan of Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL).

Quan has been named on both national teams to play in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and U23 team in the Singapore Games.

To play defence, the 50-year-old coach has named seven players, including Pham Manh Hung and Que Ngoc Hai of Song Lam Nghe An, Vu Ngoc Thinh of Hai Phong, and Bui Tien Dung of HAGL.

In midfield, Vo Huy Toan of SHB Da Nang and Nguyen Huu Dung of Thanh Hoa will compete with four other players.

While the goalie position Miura has named three players: Pham Van Tien of HAGL, Phi Minh Long of Ha Noi T&T and Le Van Truong of HAGL.

At the 28th Games, Viet Nam have been placed in Group B with Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Brunei and Timor Leste.

Viet Nam will meet Brunei in the opening match on May 29 and then will take on Malaysia on June 2, Laos on June 4, Timor Leste on June 7 and Thailand on June 10.
