VietNamNet Bridge – As many as 100 mobile operators, service providers and handset suppliers will have a chance to market their products to potential customers at an event in Ha Noi tomorrow, Oct 18.
The International Exhibition and Conference Mobile Viet Nam 2012, or Mobile Viet Nam 2012, has attracted a number of domestic and foreign big names such as Viettel, VNPT, Sony, Ericsson and Telcordia.
While Viettel will talk about the important role of telecommunications in everyday life and the company's expansion into overseas markets, VNPT will describe value-added services in its Vinaphone and MobiFone networks.
Meanwhile, Telcordia Technologies will showcase its solution for the "change mobile network save number" project which the Ministry of Information and Communication has initiated.
The company, a subsidiary of Swedish telecom giant Ericsson, has already implemented this solution in more than 19 countries world-wide, allowing mobilephone subscribers to change network providers without swapping their numbers.
An international conference will be held on October 19, providing a platform for governmental agencies and businesses to share views on future strategies for Viet Nam's mobile sector.
The four-day event, to be held at the Friendship Culture Palace in Ha Noi, is jointly organised by the Ministry of Information and Communications, Viet Nam Exhibition Conference and Advertisement Joint Stock Company and Number one Media Technology Corporation.
New mobile subscriptions in Viet Nam have skyrocketed in recent years, blasting from 19 million in 2006 to 98 million in 2009 and more than 123 million by the end of September 2012.
