VietNamNet Bridge – On November 1, the Xuan Thanh Group of boss Nguyen Duc Thuy announced to offer the Saigon Xuan Thanh football club to HCM City for free.

According to the group’s dispatch, sent to HCM City authorities yesterday, the FC will be given to HCM City under its commitment, made at a meeting between the group and HCM City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on October 23.

It means that the team will belong to HCM City and the city is not allowed to sell it. The FC will be managed by the Saigon Football JSC.

After the team is given to HCM City, its name may be changed into Saigon FC or be combined with the name of its sponsor.

The move shows that mogul Thuy has not been interested in football or his group is also in financial difficulty. Some players of Saigon Xuan Thanh FC are worried and seeking ways to move to other teams.

Also on November 1, Thuy said that the group would liquidate all contracts with the coaching staff of Navibank Saigon FC, which was recently purchased by Xuan Thuy Company, a subsidiary of Xuan Thanh Group.

Saigon Xuan Thanh FC will receive the 9 key players of Navibank Saigon to prepare for the new football season and will sign contracts with them on November 10.

According to Thuy, the plan to transfer Navibank Saigon to Ha Tinh Province failed so Xuan Thanh is seeking a new partner. As a result, the group has to liquidate contracts with the old coaching board of Navibank Saigon to find a new coach who accepts lower salary.
