As many as 81 foreign investors, including 15 organizations and 66 individuals were granted with stock transaction codes in June only, according to the Viet Nam Securities Depository (VSD).
As of June 30, the VSD has licensed stock transaction codes for 17,956 foreign investors, including 2,687 organizations and 15,269 individuals.
In addition, the VSD agreed to change information for 25 foreign investors and cancelled stock exchange codes for six foreign investors.
Recently, the Government has issued Decree 60/2015/ND-CP on amending and supplementing several articles of Decree 58/2012/ND-CP on implementing the Securities Law, in which more room is offered to foreign investors to participate in Viet Nam's equities market.
Foreign investors can invest without limits in certificates of deposit, shares of securities companies, shares without voting rights of the public company, derivative securities and saving certificates, except for other regulations by issuers.
The Decree regulated that public and listed companies must report the State Securities Commission and publicize information about foreign participation on their websites and those of the Stock Exchange and the Central Securities Depository.
