More Party leaders, officials and friends from around the world have continued to send congratulatory messages to Nguyen Phu Trong, who was re-elected General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam at the party’s 12 th National Congress which took place in Hanoi on January 20-28.

Congratulations were offered by head of Japan’s Social Democratic Party Tadatomo Yoshida, President of Komeito Party of Japan Natsuo Yamaguchi, Chairman of the Hungarian Worker’s Party Gyula Thurmer, and Secrectary General of Algeria’s National Liberation Front (FLO) Amar Saadani.
Governor of Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture Yuji Kuroiwa and Vietnam’s Honorary General Consul in Busan, the Republic of Korea Park Soo Kwan also extended their congratulations to the Vietnamese Party chief.

International diplomats in Egypt gathered on February 4 at the headquarters of the Embassy of Vietnam in Egypt to congratulate Vietnam on the upcoming traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) and the success of the recent 12th National Party Congress.
The guests included Hesham El Naqeeb, and the Ambassadors from Thailand, the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Indonesia, Japan, India, Cuba, Palestine, Mongolia, Portugal, and South Sudan.
Addressing the banquet, Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Do Hoang Long briefed the guests on recent socio-economic achievements of Vietnam , highlighting the success of the 12th National Party Congress and the ratification of national development goals for the 2016-2020 period.
Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with more than 180 nations and territories, and economic and trade ties with nearly all nations and territories, Long said, adding that the country has also participated in international forums and organisations.
The Ambassador also introduced traditional practices and culture to international friends, particularly regarding Tet.
Mongolian Ambassador to Egypt Chuluun Bayamunkh told the Vietnam News Agency that he had worked in Vietnam for three years. He felt very close to the country.
He also expressed his admiration for the significant developments Vietnam has made, particularly in economics.
Traditional art performances, and exhibitions highlighting Vietnam’s books, culture and political development were also held.
