According to the Road and Railway Traffic Police Department, during the period, 240 serious traffic accidents occurred nationwide, killing at least 110 people and injuring 185.

In central Thua Thien Hue Province, six passengers died and another seven were injured after a container truck and coach collided.

Police reported that they handled 41,000 traffic violations during the holiday weekend.

Fines totalling more than VND20 billion (US$960,000) were collected. Most violations involved overloaded coaches and speeding.
