More than 140 workers were rushed to hospital after they showed symptoms of food poisoning yesterday, in the Long Duc Industrial Park in the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh.

The hospitalised workers showed symptoms of dizziness, headache, high fever and persistent nausea and vomiting.

All the sick workers, who were employees of the Vina Company Ltd, earlier had lunch at the company cafeteria.

Tra Vinh General Hospital Deputy Director Tran Kien Vu said despite their stable condition, the workers had to stay in hospital for further treatment.

This was the second case of food poisoning reported at the handbag manufacturing company.

On January 15 this year, more than 100 workers of the company had suffered food poisoning.
