An estimated 5,000 athletes, city residents and visitors were bombarded on June 27 with more than one-tonne of different coloured paints during Danang’s first ever happiest five-kilometre run.

"It's wonderful!  I think I had one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life in the coastal city of Danang and will keep this colourful shirt as a reminder for the rest of my life,” said an Australian visitor.

Starting at Phan Dang Luu Street, runners jogged the five-kilometre course and were doused head to toe in a spectacle of colours at each kilometre marker.

The event dubbed – Colour Me Run – was inspired by the Holi Festival in India and has become an annual event in numerous countries around the globe.
