A recent leak has revealed Motorola’s most ambitious smartphone roadmap in years, highlighting the company’s determination to compete aggressively on the global mobile stage in 2026. The lineup includes three Razr foldables, a brand-new premium device named Signature, and refreshed midrange options like the Moto G Power and G Stylus.
To many tech enthusiasts, Motorola was once a symbol of Android’s golden age. The Motorola DROID, launched in 2009 running Android 2.0, was a milestone device that not only introduced free Google Maps navigation-unavailable on iPhones at the time-but also marked the first real competitor to Apple’s smartphone dominance.
Though many users eventually shifted to Pixel or iPhone, Motorola carved out a unique identity. That legacy, now under Lenovo’s ownership, continues to draw industry attention.
According to PhoneArena, this leak comes from well-known tipster Evan Blass. While accessing Lenovo’s SmartFind platform-used for matching accessories to specific models-Blass uncovered a list of Motorola's 2026 device codes and codenames.
He compiled the data into a detailed table that sheds light on nearly the entire scope of Motorola’s 2026 strategy.
The company plans to continue its Razr foldable lineup with three models: Razr (2026), Razr+ (2026), and Razr Ultra (2026). In addition, a new non-foldable flagship dubbed Motorola Signature is expected to debut in India on January 7.
The mysterious entries
Some entries on the leaked list remain unclear, including one device believed to be a book-style foldable smartphone. If true, Motorola could be preparing a direct competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series, further intensifying the competition in the rapidly growing foldable market.
For mainstream users, Motorola’s Moto G Power line has long been a go-to option thanks to its exceptional battery life. The upcoming Moto G Power (2026), rumored for release on January 8, will reportedly feature a 5,200mAh battery-promising up to two days of use on a single charge.
Also on the list is the Moto G Stylus (2026), likely arriving in April. It will continue to serve users who enjoy stylus input on a midrange Android phone.
Motorola’s position in the U.S.: Still holding the No. 3 spot
In the U.S., Motorola remains the third-largest smartphone manufacturer, holding approximately 4% of the market. While that share is modest, it’s enough to maintain a solid presence, particularly in the mid- and budget-range segments.
Samsung still dominates the Android side with 23% to 26% market share, while Apple leads by a wide margin with 58% to 61%.
If these leaks materialize, 2026 could be a breakout year for Motorola. The company appears set on reinforcing its high-end Razr lineup, launching the Signature flagship to elevate its premium image, and maintaining its stronghold in the midrange with refreshed G Power and G Stylus devices.
As the smartphone industry begins to rebound, Motorola clearly has no intention of being left behind.
