VietNamNet Bridge – The HCM City Television Film Studio has acquired the legal rights to the book Duong Van Minh: The Last President of the Sai Gon Regime by author Nguyen Tran Thiet.

This work of historical fiction follows chronologically the life of Minh (1916-2001), who acted as president of the Sai Gon Regime for only three days between April 28-30, 1975.

The studio has paid VND100 million (US$5,000) for the right to turn the book into a television series, exploring the historic victory on April 30, 1975, by the Viet Nam People's Army over the Sai Gon troops.

The studio plans to air the programme on April 30, 2015, the 40th anniversary of the reunification of Viet Nam.
