VietNamNet Bridge – Manchester United (MU), the world richest FC, aims to expand its business in Asia and Vietnam through a contract signed with Vietnam’s mobile service provider: Beeline.
According to the contract released by MU on August 22, Beeline is allowed to supply information services about the MU FC in Vietnam within at least three years. Services consist of video clips about MU’s goals, interviews with MU players and coaches and related information about this FC.

Beeline is also permitted to provide the services in Laos and Cambodia.

Details of the contract are not disclosed yet. However, MU commercial manager Richard Arnold said that as a young mobile network with fast growth in Vietnam, Beeline is an appropriate partner to help MU to penetrate into a potential market like Vietnam.

Coach Alex Ferguson told the AFP newswire that shaking hands with a mobile service provider, is the best way for MU to have access to 16 million fans in Vietnam.

This is the next step of MU in its plan to expand business in Asia. Last week this FC announced to list shares worth GB400-600 million in the Singaporean stock exchange.

Also on August 22, MU won a contract worth GBP40 million with sponsor DHL.

Though it is still the richest football club in the world in 2011, with total assets of over $1.16 billion, MU is facing many financial problems, particularly the $500 million debt of its parent company. For this reason, this club has to pay more attention to the Asian market.
