VietNamNet Bridge – For the first time the grand prize of the Do Re Mi music competition for children was granted to a boy. Do Tri Dung, 8, cried when his name was called in the final night in Hanoi on September 18.
Six kids defeated hundreds of competitors to enter the final round of
Do Re Mi 2011, the fifth of its kind.
Do Tri Dung, 8, a Muong ethnic minority boy, won the highest prize.
Dung will have a seven-day visit to Melbourne, Australia with one of his relative and
received VND20 million ($1,000) in cash.
Bui Minh Hanh (left) won the first prize and the Most Favorite Contestant title, with a
two-week summer study tour to Singapore and VND10 million ($500) in cash.
The 8-year-old girl was highly praised by the jury and called “nightingale of the port city”
since she comes from the northern port city of Hai Phong.
Hoang Phi Hung, 8, from the southern province of Binh Duong, won the Promising title.
Nguyen Ngoc Bao An received the Impression title.
Phan Nguyen Ha Linh, 8, from the central province of Quang Tri, won the Performance prize.
Nguyen Duc Tuyet Nhi, 8, from the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak won the Stylist Prize.
