Students from Da Nang University of Technology and young people in Ly Son island, Quang Ngai province joined hands to create a 300m coastal mural painting street.
Nguyen Van Lenh, student at Da Nang University of Technology said: "Through the image of the petrels, we would like to convey a message of safeguarding national sea and island sovereignty and protecting sea ecology as they are two hot issues which require people’s efforts."
More than 50 paintings depict the images of Vietnamese naval soldiers and marine creatures. They convey a message of protecting the sea and island and marine environment.
"The paintings are beautiful. I think the mural street will attract more tourists to the island," said Nguyen Thi To Trinh, a tourist from Quang Ngai city:
According to Pham Van Vuong, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Ly Son island, the mural street is created in an effort to make the island’s landscape greener, cleaner and more attractive.
The paintings are expected to help tourists understand more about the life of the local people.-VNA
