On December 9, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security, sent an official commendation to Lang Son police for their decisive and effective investigative efforts, which led to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect in a particularly brutal murder case.

According to the letter, the Ministry was briefed on how Lang Son police, through online monitoring, promptly detected information about a serious murder case. They quickly coordinated with specialized units, launching a thorough investigation that resulted in the swift arrest and indictment of the suspect responsible for the gruesome crime in Huu Lung, Lang Son. Multiple pieces of evidence were recovered during the investigation.

The case represents a major success, highlighting the determination, professionalism, and investigative acumen of Lang Son police. It also reflects their effective implementation of directives from the Party Committee of the Central Public Security and the Ministry of Public Security regarding the prevention and handling of serious crimes, particularly homicides.

The swift resolution also demonstrated strong collaboration between local police, national investigative units, and other government agencies, contributing to public reassurance, social stability, and strengthened trust in the People’s Public Security force.

"On behalf of the Party Committee of the Central Public Security and the Ministry's leadership, I commend and recognize your achievements," the Deputy Minister wrote.

He urged Lang Son police to continue cooperating with relevant agencies to broaden the investigation, consolidate evidence, and strictly prosecute all involved, expressing hope for further accomplishments in the future.

Previously, on November 29, the Lang Son Provincial Police Department issued a decision to prosecute and detain Doan Van Sang (born 1968, residing in Lang Son province), former Deputy Head of Market Management Team No. 4, for the crime of murder under Article 123, Clause 1 of the 2015 Penal Code.

On the same day, the Lang Son Provincial People's Procuracy approved the decisions, and the arrest and detention were carried out in accordance with legal procedures.

The investigation identified the victim as Nguyen Xuan Dat (born 1989, from Hung Yen province), with Doan Van Sang confirmed as the perpetrator.

In 2020, Sang met Dat through social media. On January 25, Sang called Dat and arranged a meeting at the Market Management Team No. 4 office, where Sang worked.

At the location, Sang carried out the murder.

After committing the crime, Sang made significant efforts to destroy evidence and conceal the victim’s body in an attempt to evade detection by authorities.
