Top musicians from the ASEAN countries, art groups and the Ha Noi community around will gather at a much-anticipated music festival on May 11.

The event will be held by the US embassy in Ha Noi and the Club for Art and Music Appreciation (CAMA) as the inaugural Artwork is Work: Asean Music Festival.

The musicians include garage rockers Blood Sugar Politik (Myanmar), traditional Thai funk act Molam International (Thailand), the post-rock of Pulso (Philippines) Viet Nam's nu-metal heroes 18+ (Viet Nam) and genre-defying electronic sound artist Muon (Singapore).

Besides non-stop live music on the main stage, the festival will feature a creative arts section run by the Ha Noi Flea Market and a visual arts centre curated by Ha Noi's Onion Cellar collective.

Artwork is Work: ASEAN Music Festival seeks to highlight the importance of intellectual property rights enforcement in ASEAN countries for the sake of composers, performing artists, writers, painters, computer programmers, caricaturists, musicians, illustrators and other creators of original works,

With the support of the US Embassy, the first ever Artwork is Work: ASEAN Music Festival will kick off from 2pm on May 11 at 19-21 Hai Ba Trung Street, Ha Noi.

Tickets for the event will be available on the door priced at VND300,000, or 100,000 for those holding a valid ASEAN passport.
