VietNamNet Bridge – Highly-regarded composer Duc Tri will join hands with senior artists to organize the “Year-end Concert” at the HCM City Theatre to welcome the New Year.

Duc Tri said that he named the event “Year-end Concert” for the New Year’s Eve because he planed to make it a chance for the audience to both enjoy music and to welcome the New Year in a warm atmosphere at the theatre. Attendants will count down to celebrate the New Year moment together.

The composer said that he had nurtured the idea for this concert for over a year. Spring songs of the past will be performed together with modern songs, accompanied by a symphony orchestra.

“Year-end concert is a very popular event abroad, which often focuses on classical music. In Vietnam, this genre of music is not very developed and is unpopular. That’s why I invite singers to sing with a symphony orchestra in order to popularize classical music. Top voices, which are appropriate to chamber music will be invited to join the show,” Duc Tri said.

The composer said that he would try to organize this show next year. “This is an opportunity for music lovers to enjoy immortal songs, performed by top singers and to see newly-emerged singers of the year,” he added.

For the first time overseas Vietnamese singers Tuan Ngoc and Cam Van will sing together, besides Quang Linh, Le Hieu, Le Quyen, Nguyen Thao, Quoc Thien, Thuy Chi and Anh Khang.

The Year-end Concert will take place from 8.30pm of December 31, to 0 am of January 1, 2012, at the HCM City Theatre.
