My Khe to host kayak race

Over 40 amateur kayakers will race in the second Kayak Race at East Sea Park on April 26th in celebration of the country's Reunification Day (April 30th) and to kick off the summer holidays.

Teams will compete in a qualifying round over a one-mile course from My Khe Beach to the sea and back.

Top nine teams will advance to the final.

Kayaking was introduced as tourism attraction in the city last year, with training courses held every week for 500 members.

Viet retains yellow jersey

While not winning the 11th stage of the 27th HCM City Television Cycling Cup yesterday (April 21), young cyclist Nguyen Minh Viet of BTV Binh Duong held onto his yellow jersey.

Viet won the jersey for the best overall time of 29:25.51 after 11 stages.

Hanoian Quang Van Cuong and Nguyen Hoang Giang of An Giang's Gao Hat Ngoc Troi were runners-up.

The 180km stage winner from Quang Ngai to Quy Nhon City was Le Van Dong of VTV Can Tho with in a time of 4:43.31, followed by Ho Hoang Son of Thanh Son Hoa Nong and Le Anh Dung of Ha Noi.

Le Van Duan of VUS-HCM City managed to retain the green jersey as best sprinter with 77 points.

In the team race, Gao Hat Ngoc Troi took the lead with a combined time of 88:20.44.

Today, cyclists will compete in the 12th-101km stage, to take place from Quy Nhon to Tuy Hoa City.

David wins singles, doubles

Nguyen Marshall David of Binh Duong won both U18's singles and doubles category in the National Men's Tennis Championships in Dak Nong Province yesterday, April 21.

David defeated Le Khac Tung Lam of Da Nang 7-5, 6-0 in the final match to take the singles title.

In the U18's doubles, David teamed up with Nguyen Van Phuong to beat Tung Lam and Pham Nhat Minh 7-5, 6-2 in the doubles event's final.

In the over-18's doubles, Huynh Chi Khuong and Tran Thanh Hoang of the Military won the title after besting Le Quoc Khanh and Lam Quang Tri of HCM City.

The event will finish tomorrow.
