The Management Board of My Son Sanctuary in central Quang Nam province has announced that plans to increase ticket prices to the World Cultural Heritage Site this month have been delayed until September because upgrades to the site are still to be completed, according to Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.
Tickets will rise VND60,000 ($2.8) to VND100,000 ($4.7) for domestic visitors and from VND100,000 ($4.7) to VND150,000 ($7) for international visitors.
As part of the project to develop the site’s infrastructure, the management board has built roads, shelters and souvenir kiosks and also plans to open boat tours. Shuttle buses will also be put into operation to ferry tourists around the site.
In the first half of the year My Son welcomed 132,000 visitors, up 4.8 per cent year-on-year. In 2015 it targets welcoming 250,000 foreign and domestic visitors.
