Receiving Managing Director of the Ciputra Group Budiarsa Sastrawinata, Hue acknowledged and highly appreciated the group's investment and business activities in Vietnam with a capital of nearly 3 billion USD, especially in real estate services and social security activities.

The Nam Thang Long urban area, a Ciputra project in Hanoi, is one of the major foreign investment real estate projects in the capital city. Hue wished the Ciputra Group will expand its investment to other fields.

Ciputra Group Managing Director Budiarsa Sastrawinata thanked Vietnam for always supporting the group in its projects in Vietnam, affirming that the group always complies with Vietnam law.

Along with business activities, the Ciputra Group has joined community activities, such as cultural sports events, COVID-19 prevention and control, and environmentally friendly programmes.

Ciputra is one of the leading multi-industry corporations in Indonesia with more than 100 member companies worldwide operating in the fields of real estate, healthcare, education, and arts. It has built and developed about 110 real estate projects with a scale of up to 6,000 ha in Indonesia and other countries.

During his reception for Traveloka's representatives, Hue hailed the firm's travel service business in Vietnam.

He said tourism is a spearheading industry in Vietnam, so the National Assembly has amended related laws, especially amendments to visa policy to facilitate tourism development. Additionally, Vietnam considers the digital economy one of its growth drivers in the coming decades, aiming to make up 20% of GDP by 2025, and 30% by 2030. Vietnam is also building a national data centre to realise this goal.

Traveloka co-founder Albert appreciated Vietnam’s newly-revised visa policy which, he said, shows the country's commitment to supporting and creating favourable conditions for the development of the tourism industry.

Recognising that Vietnam has a lot of potential for tourism development and is one of the leading countries in e-commerce growth, Albert affirmed that the firm will continue to promote cooperation activities in Vietnam, especially those with localities in the digital transformation in tourism.

Also on the morning of August 5, NA Chairman Hue received Michael Jizhar, Executive Vice President of Modena.

Hue welcomed Modena's presence and initial success in Vietnam. He said the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Indonesia which is flourishing is the basis for the two countries' businesses to further strengthen economic, trade, and investment relations.

He suggested the group soon build a factory to produce household appliances and equipment in Vietnam to meet the increasing need in Vietnam and neighbouring countries.

Executive Vice President of Modena Michael Jizhar said that Vietnam is an important market and the group has expanded its operations since 2018.

It is studying to build a factory to produce electrics and household appliances in Vietnam, he said, adding that as a leading brand of home appliances and electronics in Indonesia with products distributed to 92 countries around the world, the group wishes to further expand its presence and operations in Vietnam in renewable energy, and electric vehicle production.

NA Chairman receives Indonesia-Vietnam Friendship Association President in Jakarta

National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue applauded the Indonesia - Vietnam Friendship Association for its contribution to enhancing people-to-people exchange and promoting business, and investment cooperation between the two countries during his reception for the association's President Budiarsa Sastrawinata in Jakarta on August 5 as part of his official visit to Indonesia.

The Vietnamese NA Chairman highly appreciated his guest's initiative in establishing the association, with core members being entrepreneurs running investment and business projects in Vietnam.

Budiarsa Sastrawinata said that established in 2015, the association aims to consolidate and enhance the friendship between the two countries, including promoting people-to-people exchange and cooperation in various fields.

Thanking Hue for his support to the enhancement of the two countries' ties, Budiarsa Sastrawinata delivered proposals of his association's members relating to production and business activities in Vietnam, including projects on green production, environmental protection, production of vaccines against poultry diseases, cooperation in oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, universities, and the opening of a photo exhibition in Hanoi.

NA Chairman Hue emphasised that Vietnam and Indonesia boast the long-standing traditional friendship and Vietnam wishes to promote relations with Indonesia across all channels of the Party, National Assembly, Government, and people-to-people exchange.

Hue said he hopes the Indonesia - Vietnam Friendship Association will have more and more members, while suggesting the association organise a people-to-people diplomacy event this year when the two countries celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of their strategic partnership.

Also on August 5 morning, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly laid a wreath at the Indonesian National Heroes Monument in Kalibata Cemetery, southern Jakarta.

Top legislator meets with Indonesian Audit Board leader

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue on August 5 met with Chairperson of the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) Isma Yatun as part of his ongoing official visit to Indonesia.

Hailing the role and contributions of the BPK to the state audit activities in the region and the world, NA Chairman Hue said he hopes the BPK will continue to strengthen cooperation with and share experience with the State Audit Office of Vietnam (SAV).

BPK Chairperson Isma Yatun said that the BPK and the SAV have conducted many effective and practical cooperation activities.

She said she plans to visit the SAV and relevant agencies of Vietnam to seek stronger bilateral collaboration in auditing, while expressing her hope that the Vietnamese NA will continue to support the partnership between the two supreme audit agencies of the two countries.

She highly valued the contributions that NA Chairman Hue made to the regional state audit activities as the General Auditor of Vietnam, especially to the formation of the ASEAN Supreme Audit Institutions (ASEANSAI) in 2011.

The BPK leader said that she hopes with rich experience and deep understanding in auditing and cooperation among supreme audit institutions in the region and the world, the Vietnamese top legislator will continue to back the cooperation between the BPK and the SAV and support Indonesia in performing the role of the host of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) in 2028.

NA Chairman Hue said that the SAV, as an agency set up by the Vietnamese NA, operates independently and in accordance with the law. Outcomes of SAV activities have contributed to supporting the NA in law building, supervising activities and deciding important matters of the country.

He affirmed that the Vietnamese NA always supports cooperation activities between the SAV and other supreme audit institutions in the region and the world, including the BPK.

He suggested that the two agencies strengthen collaboration in financial auditing, compliance auditing and operational auditing, while paying attention to auditing in the field of environment, digital transformation, and controlling the quality of auditing activities as well as areas of both sides' strengths. They should continue the programme to send SAV auditors to work in Indonesia, he said.

The BPK was the initiator to establish the G20 Supreme Audit Institution (SAI20) and successfully organised the SAI20 Summit in 2022. It is also a member of many INTOSAI working groups, including those on information technology auditing, big data auditing, environmental auditing, and anti-corruption and money laundering auditing.

Top legislator meets with Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle chairperson

National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue met with Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri on August 4 as part of the Vietnamese top legislator’s official visit to Indonesia.

Megawati, who is also head of the steering committee of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP), and the steering committee of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), and former Indonesian President, stressed that the first official visit to Indonesia by the NA Chairman contributes to strengthening the traditional friendship and the strategic partnership between the two countries intensively, extensively and practically.

She expressed her admiration for Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements, affirming that Vietnam is an important partner of Indonesia in the region.

Hue conveyed regards from Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to the PDI-P leader, and thanked Megawati and her father – President Sukarno – for their significant contributions and sentiments to the land and people of Vietnam, as well as the bilateral friendship and cooperation.

He lauded Megawati’s role to the development of the friendship with the establishment of the comprehensive partnership in 2003 on the occasion of her visit to Vietnam as the first female President of Indonesia.

Hue congratulated Indonesia on its outstanding G20 presidency in 2022, and 2023 ASEAN Chairmanship and ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Chair, stressing Vietnam always attaches importance to the strategic partnership with Indonesia.

The two sides agreed that relevant agencies of both nations should propose measures to enhance the bilateral cooperation in all spheres, levels and channels, especially the Party channel.

They also concurred to promote collaboration between research and theory agencies of the two countries, especially between the BPIP and BRIN of Indonesia, and Vietnam’s Central Theory Council, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

On this occasion, Hue conveyed the invitations by Party General Secretary Trong and other high-ranking Vietnamese leaders to Megawati to visit Vietnam. She accepted the invitation with pleasure, and affirmed that she will soon visit Vietnam.
