She made the statement at a reception for Somphan Phengkhammy, a Party Central Committee member, Vice National Assembly Chairman and President of the Committee for Peace and Solidarity of Laos in Ha Noi yesterday.

Ngan lauded the friendship and co-operation of the people’s organisations of the two countries, including the Peace Committee of Viet Nam and the Committee for Peace and Solidarity of Laos, saying these activities helped cement bilateral ties.

She hoped co-operation between the two peoples and two peace committees would reap more achievements and help consolidate the special solidarity between Viet Nam and Laos.

Somphanh Phengkhammy briefed Chairwoman Ngan of the outcomes of his talks with Uong Chu Luu, NA Vice Chairman and President of the Peace Committee, saying the two sides agreed to continue bolstering co-operation in practical activities, and to work together to support each other in people-to-people diplomacy and in communication campaigns to popularise the two countries’ friendship.

On the occasion, host and guest agreed that the two law-making bodies would continue working closely in speeding up the building of the Laos National Assembly House.
