VietNamNet Bridge – The 13th National Assembly (NA) deputies at their June 7 plenary sitting of the ongoing fifth session debated the results of supervising the implementation of the Law on Thrift Practice and Wastefulness Prevention in using Government bonds for infrastructure construction in the 2006-2012 period.

Chairman of the NA’s Finance and Budget Committee Phung Quoc Hien presented a report compiled by the NA Standing Committee on this issue.

During the session chaired by NA Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, 37 deputies from 30 provinces and cities voiced their opinions, focusing on the issuance of legal documents on thrift practice and wastefulness prevention, and other legal documents relating to the use of Government bonds in the 2006-2012 period.

They also exchanged views on achievements as well as shortcomings in distributing Government bonds and implementing the Law on Thrift Practice and Wastefulness Prevention in using Government bonds for infrastructure construction in the above-mentioned period.

The Ministers of Agriculture and Rural Development, Transport, Health, and Planning and Investment clarified some issues raised by the deputies.

On June 8, the NA deputies will hear reports on the draft Law on amendments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Reward, the Residence Law and the Employment Law.

The plenary session will be broadcast live on the Vietnam Television (VTV) and Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) channels.
