VietNamNet Bridge – The National Assembly is expected to put forward 11 resolutions during its nearly month-long second session which opens later this month, where Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung is scheduled to present the Government's report on socio-economic development for 2011-15.
The NA Standing Committee met yesterday, Oct 13, to discuss preparations for the second legislature session and head of the NA Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc said his office had gathered comments from the Government, NA province deputies, government agencies and ministries.
These ideas suggest the Government will provide additional reports on comprehensive efforts to ease traffic congestion, lower road accidents, review the current global economic situation and plan for the future, according to Phuc.
Other important issues raised by NA deputies concern foreign debts, results of the usage of government bonds between 2005-10 and the implementation of the 2009 NA resolution to improve efficiency in state-owned firms.
As part of the Assembly's efforts to reform the process of interpolation, the NA Standing Committee agreed that a two-minute maximum would be applied to member questions and a 15-minute cap would be applied to report presentations.
The NA will start its second session on October 20, with the participation of 334 members.
