On the morning of August 26th, during the opening speech of the 8th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly, Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that the assembly's primary focus would be on personnel matters within its jurisdiction.
The session's agenda includes discussions and deliberations on the dismissal of the current Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy, as they transition to new positions.
Moreover, the assembly will approve the dismissal of a Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Justice, both of whom are set for new assignments. The assembly will also confirm the dismissal of another Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment as they retire from their respective roles.
The National Assembly will further consider the dismissal of a delegate from the 15th session.
In addition to these dismissals, the assembly will deliberate on the appointment of a new Deputy Prime Minister for the current term. It will also approve the appointments of three Deputy Prime Ministers, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Minister of Justice. During this session, the National Assembly will elect the new Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy.
Chairman Tran Thanh Man urged all delegates to uphold democratic principles, demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, and engage in comprehensive discussions to ensure that the personnel decisions are made with due diligence, in line with Party regulations and state laws, and achieve broad consensus and unity.
